Funded Warehouse Training Programmes
Ever considered working in Warehousing & Logistics?
Then look no further!
This is a hugely expanding sector, with the shortage of skilled workers seemingly never ending. This multi-billion-pound industry is the backbone of the UK economy, and without skilled workers to carry out these essential tasks, we soon run into problems, as we’ve all experienced following Brexit and during Covid.
If you would like to start your pathway to meaningful, skilled employment in this hugely varied sector, then look no further.
The Government provides access to funding to help people upskill and we can access that funding for you.
Your Pathway to Employment through funded training
Working in partnership with New College Swindon and Wiltshire Council, we are able to offer a range of exciting new courses which are funded by the Government, either fully for those on low incomes or those claiming Universal Credit, or heavily subsidised for businesses looking to upskill their workforce.
These courses provide a mixture of regulated and non-regulated learning, so that we can offer a fun, varied and tailored learning experience to our students.
Our three programmes will help you gain the essential skills employers are asking for as follows:
- Two are designed for those looking to start their careers in the Transport and Logistics industries by creating a training pathway that will take you from a beginner to multi-skilled warehouse operative, enabling you to progress from course to course and to build on your skills. These both start with the basics of working in a warehouse environment, and continue right through to forklift operations.
- Our third programme is for those looking to start a career in the Transport and Logistics industries in a leadership role, for those already working in the sector who would like to progress up to a leadership position, or for businesses who would like to add those skills to their current workforce.

Programme Overviews
This programme of four individual courses run over 18 days is designed to create a training pathway that will take you from a beginner to multi-skilled warehouse operative with a forklift certificate.
Each course has been tailored to provide you at the end with a broad and detailed knowledge of warehouse operations and the skills that you’ll need to work in Transport and Logistics industries.
We build up your skills from course to course, culminating in our Level 2 Forklift Operations course, in which you learn how to operate a Counterbalance forklift truck.
We also cover a wide variety of specially selected topics to help you gain not just the hard skills, but the soft skills that employers are looking for, such as timekeeping, team work, communication skills and reliability.
You will also have the chance to meet a recruitment agency, who have live jobs available, and sign up there and then on the course. A lot of our students leave us at the end of our programme and walk straight into work.
This course is designed for students who are ready to go straight into a Level 2 course and is designed to those who willing to commit to finding work within 6 months of completing their training with us.

Why do we need more skilled workers?
Year on year, the skills gap increases, with more vacancies than available skilled staff.
Latest figures showed an increase in England of 15.2% in vacancies for warehouse loaders and pickers (up to 31,450), an increase of 1.2% for Warehouse managers (up to 63,040), an increase of 2.5% for warehouse staff and box fillers (up to 252,430).
Forklift driving is also in great demand, with 24.5% of employers reporting that they expect to experience difficulties hiring skilled staff.
Once you have those skills, there are many ways to progress within the Logistics industry and a shortage of skilled managers and leaders means employers value these skills when recruiting.
Did you know?
The UK Logistics sector employs around 2.7 million people directly and indirectly in logistics roles, representing 8.2% of the UK workforce, yet, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, it quietly operated in the background with few people understanding its importance.
At the end of 2021, the economic value of logistics was 16% higher than 2019 (pre-pandemic) levels. This is linked to the record rise in online shopping in 2021 during the pandemic.
Over the past 10 years, logistics has outperformed the rest of the economy as overall employment numbers have grown by 15% (total UK employment rose 11% over the same period).
