Course Introduction

Who should attend?

 

  • Our Lift Truck Instructor Novice course lasts 10 days and is designed to teach experienced lift truck operators who wish to deliver lift truck operator training who have not been formally trained as an instructor before.
  • The Lift Truck Instructor course provides candidates with interactive guided theory, discussion and practice. It prepares candidates to cater for the needs of their learners both in and out of the training room.
  • By the end of the Lift Truck Instructor course candidates will:
    • Demonstrate their instructional ability to conduct practical lessons using appropriate practical instructional skills
    • Demonstrate their instructional ability to conduct in-class lessons using appropriate classroom instructional skills
    • Discuss their associated knowledge of health and safety, legislation, instructional skills, candidate selection and practical skills testing
    • Prepare, schedule and deliver an appropriate operator training course, working independently under workplace environment conditions
    • Prepare, set up and conduct a Basic Operating Skills Test
    • Follow administration and documentation procedures appropriate to running an operator training course, including developing a familiarity with RTITB procedures and the RTITB TrainingFriend app.
