Course Introduction

Who should attend?

 

  • You will, no doubt, be well aware of the potentially devastating effects of fires in the workplace in terms of lives lost, injuries, damage to property and the environment, and to business continuity.
  • You may also be aware that it is believed that most fires are preventable.
  • The importance of fire safety in the workplace is underpinned by health and safety legislation that places a duty on employers to establish policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training.
  • Our one-day Level 2 Fire Safety / Fire Marshal Training Course, with live discharge of extinguishers, is designed for employees who want to develop their basic fire safety awareness in order to assist their employer by undertaking more specific fire safety roles in the workplace to manage fire risk (e.g. as fire wardens/marshals/stewards etc.)
  • The syllabus for this course is fully compliant with The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.

Course Overview

  • This course is designed for employees who want to develop their basic fire safety awareness in order to assist their employer by undertaking more specific fire safety roles in the workplace to manage fire risk (e.g. as fire wardens/marshals/stewards etc.)
  • This course will take at least 6 hours to complete.  These hours will be delivered in 1 day.
  • With live discharge of extinguishers, it covers the role of the designated Fire Marshal (Fire Warden) and you will learn about preventing fires, about the different types of fire extinguisher and how to use them correctly.

  • The course Instructor is responsible for determining whether delegates pass or fail based on practical and oral assessment throughout the course, i.e. by observation and oral questioning, as well as the completion of a multiple-choice question paper at the end of the course.
  • The instructor will only award a pass if they believe that delegates have displayed the requisite understanding and competencies at the end of each session throughout the course and successfully completed the question paper.
  • On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Level 2 national qualification, (Level 5 in Scotland), will be issued to the learner, subject to successfully completing the test paper.
  • This course is Regulated by Ofqual under their Regulated Quality Framework (RQF) and accredited by the FAA.
