  • Our Entry 3 Award in Working in Transport and Logistics Industries Qualification provides opportunities for learners to develop their skills and knowledge to enable them to start or build on a career in a range of transport and logistics industries.
  • This 2-day NVQ course is accredited by AIM Qualifications, is part of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and is internationally recognised.
  • This course also is an excellent starting point for a variety of other courses, including:
    • Level 1 Certificate in an Introduction to Warehousing
    • Level 2 Forklift Operations and Maintenance
  • This qualification has been developed in conjunction with employers, training providers and subject matter experts.

    • Those who are seeking to progress within their role in Transport and Logistics Industries

Course Overview

  • Our Entry 3 Award in Working in Transport and Logistics Industries Qualification will give learners the opportunity to carry out practical tasks such as carry out a manual handling lesson, conduct pre-use checks and move goods with pump-up trucks and sack trucks.
  • This course also covers the principles of different regulations in relation to equipment and manual handling.
  • A good understanding of English & Maths will be required.

Manual Handling and Moving Goods
·         Know about manual handling and the movement of goods
·         Be able to handle and move goods
·         Be able to respond appropriately to risks associated with the safe handling and moving of goods
·         Know about manual handling and the movement of goods
Using Equipment to Handle and Move Goods
·         Know about using equipment to handle and move goods
·         Be able to use equipment to handle and move goods
·         Be able to respond to risks associated with the safe use of equipment to handle and move goods
  • The course assessor is responsible for determining whether delegates pass or fail based on practical and oral assessment throughout the course, i.e. by observation and oral questioning, as well as the completion of a workbook throughout the course.
  •  The assessor will only award a pass if they believe that delegates have displayed the requisite understanding and competencies at the end of each session throughout the course and successfully completed their workbooks.
  • On successful completion of this course, you will receive a NVQ Entry 3 Award in Working in Transport and Logistics Industries Certificate.
  • This course is regulated by Ofqual under their Regulated Quality Framework (RQF) and accredited by AIM.

How to access funded courses

This course is funded through the Adult Skills Fund (ASF) in conjuction with New College Swindon.

Learners may be fundable if they meet the funding criteria, as set down by the ASF.

Typically, those on low incomes (under £25,000 per annum) and those claiming Universal Credit would qualify for funded training through this scheme.
