Who should attend?

Our Level 1 Certificate in An Introduction to Warehousing Qualification provides opportunities for learners to prepare themselves for work, prior to obtaining a job within the warehousing industry.
This 8-day NVQ course also provides learners with an opportunity to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or where more specific knowledge, skills and understanding is required.
This NVQ course is accredited by Highfield Qualifications, is part of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and is internationally recognised.
This course is an excellent way to further develop your skills for a variety of other higher-level courses or roles, including:
- Level 2 Forklift Operations and Maintenance
- Subject specific Transport & Logistics qualifications at Level 3 and above
This qualification has been developed in conjunction with employers, training providers and subject matter experts.

- Learners who are seeking employment in Transport and Logistics, in particular a warehousing and storage environment
- Those who are seeking to progress within their role in Transport and Logistics Industries
- Those who have attended our Entry 3 Award in Skills for Working in Transport & Logistics Industries course

Course Overview

Our Level 1 Certificate in An Introduction to Warehousing Qualification is aimed at individuals who are interested in working within the logistics sectors, in particular, a warehousing and storage environment. It includes the following knowledge-based learning outcomes for example:
- Know about the different careers and different types of organisations in the warehousing industry
- Know the different job roles available within the warehousing industry
- Know the different functions of the warehousing industry
- Know the digital skills required to work effectively in the warehousing industry

· Working within the warehousing industry

· Maintain hygiene standards when handling goods and equipment

· Responsible disposal and environmental considerations

· Working towards goals

· Moving and/or handling goods in logistics operations

· Preparing for an interview in the warehousing industry

· Interview skills for the warehousing industry

The course assessor is responsible for determining whether delegates pass or fail based on practical and oral assessment throughout the course, i.e. by observation and oral questioning, as well as the completion of a workbook throughout the course.
The assessor will only award a pass if they believe that delegates have displayed the requisite understanding and competencies at the end of each session throughout the course and successfully completed their workbooks.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive a NVQ Level 1 Certificate in An Introduction to Warehousing.
This course is awarded by Highfield Qualifications and sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF is a qualification framework regulated by Ofqual and CCEA Regulation.
It is also regulated by Qualifications Wales.

How to access funded courses

This course is funded through the Adult Skills Fund (ASF) in conjuction with New College Swindon.

Learners may be fundable if they meet the funding criteria, as set down by the ASF.

Typically, those on low incomes (under £25,000 per annum) and those claiming Universal Credit would qualify for funded training through this scheme.
